Pursuing Litigation Against Illegal Antisemitism
JCAC recognizes that some forms of antisemitism cross the line from protected speech into illegal discrimination, harassment, and civil-rights violations. When that happens, we believe in using the full force of the law to protect our community.
We identify cases where Jews face illegal discrimination in employment, education, housing, and public accommodations. Our approach combines legal expertise with community reporting to build strong cases that can set important precedents.
Litigation serves multiple purposes: it provides justice for victims, sends a powerful message that antisemitism has consequences, and creates legal frameworks that protect future generations. We work with experienced civil-rights attorneys to pursue cases strategically.
This includes challenging universities that fail to address hostile environments for Jewish students, employers who discriminate based on Jewish identity or support for Israel, and institutions that violate civil-rights laws in their treatment of Jews.
We also support members of our community who face antisemitism by connecting them with legal resources and, when appropriate, taking cases on ourselves. Our commitment is to ensure that illegal antisemitism is met with serious legal consequences.
