Won't Take Divisive Positions
JCAC exists to defend Jewish civil rights and Israel's legitimacy — full stop. We deliberately do not take positions on partisan political fights that are unrelated to those goals and that would fracture the coalition we've built.
Legacy Jewish organizations too often weigh in on every political issue of the day, alienating members who otherwise share their core mission. That approach shrinks the tent and dilutes advocacy where it matters most.
We stay focused. When an issue directly affects the safety, civil rights, or dignity of Jews — or the legitimacy and security of Israel — JCAC engages, and we engage hard. When an issue is a general political disagreement without a distinctly Jewish civil-rights dimension, we decline to speak in the community's name.
This discipline is a feature, not a limitation. It's what allows a religious Zionist in Los Angeles, a secular Israeli-American in the Bay Area, and a liberal Jewish parent in New York to work side by side under one banner.
By refusing to take divisive positions on unrelated matters, JCAC preserves the credibility and unity required to win the fights that actually protect the Jewish community.
